Xeon E3 1231v3 vs. i7 6700K

So here comes another set of questions that I will ask about more CPUs...

Which is better? the Xeon E3 1231v3 or the i7 6700K?

Again my computer is meant for casual gaming and video editing...

Being able to overclock the cpu will benefit the editing/rendering. I'd just go for a 4790k unless you need the features skylake offers.

I'd say 6700k between those two.

But you should go with 4790K.

imo, nothing much when comparing to Haswell.

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz - Intel Stock Cooler - Zotac Geforce GT 610 2GB Synergy Edition

Intel DH61WW - Corsair® Value Select 4GBx1 DDR3 1600 MHz - Antec BP-300P PSU

WD Green 1TB - Seagate 2.5" HDD 1TB - Seagate Barracuda 500GB - Antec X1 E.

The 6700K is better, but there's a big price difference. It would sort of depend on your overall budget. A 4790K would be a better choice than the 6700K if you ask me, the price for Z170 and DDR4 is not worth the small performance increase of the 6700K

But this is sooooo minor that it really isnt worth it.

Get a 4790K, if youre into casual gaming like Minecraft and CS:GO, get a 4690K.

4790K is Oced 4770K

Overall, the i7 4790K is better...

Can any of you recommend me a good mATX motherboard?

6700K is better, higher IPC and unlocked multiplier can yield up to 35% better performance overall...but it's also 35%+ more expensive AFAIK.
