Hi guys

I'd really want to own a vinyl player but I've no experience or what so ever from them. I've seen some vinyl players that can be connected to the PC. Can you actually plug headphones to your vinyl player and listen? or do you need to get like Vinyl player that rips the vinyl to your PC?

Unless you get a record player with a build in amp you won't be able to plug in a pair of headpones.

The record players I have seen with a USB connection are used for ripping the records to a PC, but the quality of the ones I have used have been a bit sketchy.

What do you suggest going with?

Like if I want to listen to music and maybe even rip records to PC?

I just use a old Denon record player hocked uo to a Denon AMP.

I have never tried recording from my set up, but I guess you could take a male to male jack cable and connect the AMP to a PC's AUX-in port, and record the sound that way.

I want to say rega's are about as cheap as you can get for good quality new.

I'd recommend just going to a local thrift store and buying used.

you just have to make sure the cartrige and needle are still there.

you may still need a phono amp, so if you can also find an amp at thrift stores with a phono in you'll be good to go.

Will work for electronic components and parts

What he said,  there are no golden rules for getting a good turntable.  Don't worry about brand so much as that it has everything you need.
