so this is the CAS system: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_Alert_System

its the six strike thingy for all major US ISP's. I did get emails in the past but ignored them about the warnings, today they shut off my internet for 1 hour and redirected me to a "acknowledgment" page, but i only pirate TV shows so i can watch them on my own time, I also pay for cable and all the channels i watch the shows on.

All i wanna know is, is there any way to avoid the CAS system, i dont wanna lose connection for 24 hours (even though i have unlimited tethering from my phone).

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

VPNs protect online privacy from the peering eyes of the 3rd party alert groups.

Online privacy is an issue, get a vpn to stop things like this.

Note: i don't condone pirating.

Again, I've never had issues. So, I'm assuming they work good. Your best bet would be a VPN like everyone else said, but I just stick with PeerBlock since it hasn't steered me wrong yet.

Wow, I'm surprised you got hit by the CAS. I'm also with TWC and have a 15TB server doing 24/7 downloads & uploads and never had an issue with them.

Firstly, let me de-bunk the PeerBlock logic. I won't say anything -against- it as I've got no proof-of-concept for it. But at least when we had plenty of IPv4 addresses, your IP address would rotate/change after x days/minutes. Since IP addresses change, an IP blocking scheme is useless, as said company tracking your IP would have a different IP shortly; so you'd end up potentially blocking a valid peer with a piece that you need and leaving the offending IP open to connection. (Schrödinger's cat)

In the USA, an IP address ≠ Person; only an account holder. With x people on a network, one cannot prove any specific infringing person/device without a confession. Using an open Wi-Fi network allows for plausible deniability, and as an account holder in the USA is not considered responsible for his/her network traffic (I don't think any prior-art on this exists though, so use caution) you should be fine.

In overall response to the question at hand, there are steps you can take to help with your issue, like randomizing your ports (really doesn't do much except to help with port blocking/throttling on the ISP level) or Encryption, (IMO the best without resorting to a paid method) as now your P2P packets will be encrypted and your ISP & MAFFIA can't see what you're sending, and (again, assuming you're American) they can't rightfully use DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) without violating the 4th Amendment Right.

However (and this kinda falls back to an earlier post somewhere on the forum), if you use a VPN, you will be perfectly fine. However, VPN qualities do differ between companies. A company like HideMyAss will give up your routing info at first sign of a fight, where as other companies aren't so willing ;) ; and free VPNs are typically slower than paid ones, and some VPNs do not allow P2P traffic at all (and will terminate your account accordingly). Typically, reading the EULA for these companies and asking questions about their logging is a good start, so here is a good list to get you started, TorrentFreak has some very nice articles on the topics at hand:

https://torrentfreak.com/anonymous-vpn-service-provider-review-2015-150228

If you'd like to see what your IP address has listed against it, ScanEye has some pretty neat (but potentially false) information regarding download history:

http://www.pobralem.pl/

This website has over 3 pages of movies (that I know I didn't download) dating back 3 years... well I had this IP address for a month since I've been at my new house, how can I be responsible for an IP that wasn't registered to my account that long ago?

I hope my post has helped you, and anyone else in this pickle (and going into the future) and educated some others.

this was a very well thought out post, but since all the claims have been against me and using torrents, im just gonna use my trusted file sharing sights instead. I just like to binge watch a weeks worth of shows over the weekend  and getting claims and at some point losing the internet for it isnt worth it.
