I'm planning on building a PC meant purely for gaming. No rendering, streaming, or video editing. I don't really have games in mind for this build, maybe GTA V or Dying Light.

Tell me what you think about it, so long as the price doesn't exceed what I have right now.

You might want to get a refrence card if you're gonna be using a stock CPU cooler.

It's entirely up to you but you could save about $75 by switch to an AMD FX-6300 and a 970 motherboard. Not sure if it matters to you but being on such a budget, that could allow for you to get a better graphics card or case or whatever. Just my two cents.

This is so much better. The 1150 platform allows you to upgrade your processor down the line. An SSD provides snappy performance today. And an R9 290 has some exceptional gaming performance.
