Overclocking 4790k?

any idea what you could over clock the 4790k with a h100i gtx with this mobo 

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5

how much your CPU overclocks depends on the CPU and how lucky you get in the silicon lottery

You could possibly get 4.6-4.8 GHz on stock voltage. Depends because of the Silicon lottery.

Overclocking doesn't really work that, it's all dependent on the CPU, all chips are different you probably may not get the same exact overclock as the next person with the CPU. Telling us the motherboard would give us the info on what kind of voltage the motherboard should be able to handle comfortably which would be 1.3V+. Most I could say if you get good temps you should be able to get at least a 4.2Ghz OC but can't tell you the actual overclock because we don't know how much headroom you can get per voltage increment.

I guess I got a Golden chip then...I can do 4.8 GHz on stock voltage lol. I guess 4.4-4.6 is a more reasonable estimate

Mine needs 1.33v for 4.8GHz. You lucky guy.

It depends more on that particular CPU than mobo. Generally speaking, 4790K is a heavily binned chip. I see only very few people get less than 4.6GHz. 4.7-4.8GHz is very common.
