Bottlenecking 980Ti

Hey Guys

 

Will the 4790K bottleneck the ASUS Strix 980Ti. I'm worried because its the fastest 980ti card apart from the water cooled Zotac. thoughts?

The magic answer is no, it won't.

It's not the fastest 980 TI, boost clock from the factory really doesn't mean a thing, real-world results do. And from all the 980 TI's I've seen, the 980 TI kingpin is the only one consistently hitting 1500+.  I haven't seen a single one that couldn't hit over 1500 yet on air on the OCN owner's thread. Most are hitting 1520-1540.

 

But to answer your question, no it won't bottleneck.

No, it will not bottleneck it at all.

It wouldn't even bottleneck 980ti SLI. (In most cases at least)

I have 4790k and it doesn't hit 70 percent with sli 980ti's

Bf4 ultra 4k 4x msaa 90fps

100 percent on both cards

64 player map

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-
