Asus ROG Orion Pro?

has anyone used the Asus Orion Pro? i know Linus did an unboxing but there was no sound quality review. it comes with a small usb sound card. for the price is it worth it? 

 

i was thinking of buying a higher quality headset with a mod mic and then add a sound card but that all together would come out to over $200. 

 

I dont think i will benefit to a sound card or even an amp as i do most of my listening on my phone with an already great pair of headphones (Sony XB-500)

I don't about the pro but I use the orion. orion does not come with the usb sound card. thats the only diffrence. It's awesome with a sound card.

without the sound card, lol the bass sucks. but once you plug in a sound card. damn. blows ears off.

Sound cards are AWSOME what i did is i bought a cheap (but not too much) sound card and it increased my bass volume and quality unbeliably too much (i use astro a 40 2011)

oh the A40s/A50s  :wub:  so beautiful

i might look into that. howver the pro comes with the small usb sound card and i dont know how it compares to a dedicated one

Buy quality headphones and a separate mic. Don't even think about a soundcard until you're happy with your headphones (unless you have an old mobo).

I feel like my current headphones are high enough quality. I dont use them on my computer but rather my phone where I can playback FLAC files and frankly I enjoy the quality it gives out.

If you already have headphones then why are you wasting money on a headset? Just buy a Zalman clip-on and viola. Sound cards are overrated, but you can get a Xonar U3 if you want something similar to what the Orion Pro provides.

my headphones are extremely bass heavy and solely for music. I've always used a separate pair of headphones and headset.

Don't get snippy with me mister, I'm just trying to trying to help. Imo, it seems silly to have two pairs of audio peripherals just because one has a mic. Go ahead do whatever the heck you want.

I like really low deep bass music and no headset covers that low. my headphones can

if I use my headphones to game everything is distorted and muffled.

thats why I have 2 separate things

to satisfy ALL my cravings... ;)

You could get deep bass that doesn't muffle the rest of the spectrum when you're not listening to music.  B)
