Cannot do nVidia surround with different monitors

Hey all I made a post about this about a week ago that you can find here http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/433892-cant-do-span-across-all-displays-in-nvidia-control-panel/ I apologize if it is wrong to make a double post, however that post seemed to go dead.

So anyway I have 3 monitors, 1x ROG swift (2560x1440), and 2x 24" dell ips monitors (1920x1080)

When I go into the nvidia control panel and select

'configure span displays with surround'

      Then select topology

'1x3'

Then select the three monitors I am using (the only 3 selected). At this point I receive a notice that...

"surround requires displays that share at least one common timing. Select different combinations of displays."

I have tried changing the resolutions of the two dell monitors to 2560x1440; I have tried changing the polarities to make sure they were all +, +; I have tried changing the refresh rate of the swift to 60hz in order to make all monitors like in their refresh rates. I have no idea what to try next, can someone please give me some help on this cause I have run my knowledge of what I can do to the edge.

Thanks, JarJar

You will need to change the swift down to 1080p 60Hz.

can I change it back once it is configured?

From what I have seen people using monitors with different resolutions with nVidia Surround, your statement is incorrect.  Of course due to the different resolutions the displays may appear a bit weird.  But you can indeed use 3 different monitors with different resolutions for surround.

they need to be set to the exact same resolution if you want surround to work

That same discussion shows someone posting his setup with 3 monitors with different resolutions.

Yes, nVidia reduces the resolution to something that would work across all 3 screens.  I didn't mean to say that all 3 monitors could be run at their native resolutions.

well its not that big of a deal, the focus of the game is on the center screen. I would just like to have more peripheral view in fps games.

So what I am gathering is that I can do nvidia surround with my monitors, however I can no longer run my ROG swift at 2560x1440 @144Hz. Is this correct?
