I just wanted to post my numbers to dispel the mistruth that AMD chips run hot by default. The numbers you are shooting for are pretty low and shouldn't be a problem assuming all your hardware is installed correctly. 

Let me see.....inaccurate temperature sensor that actually isn't inside the CPU but the socket itself.

AMD overdrive ONLY reports "thermal margin". Meaning the degrees left before you hit TJmax and the CPU starts throttling or system shuts off.

Which is BS as their older CPU such as the Phenom II's reported the actual CPU temperatures correctly in all temperature sensing programs as they had inbuilt thermal sensors.

well AMD overdrive use a algorithm to compensate for the temp sensor sitting in the socket....

I know-and lets be honest that's only a cost cutting measure on AMD's part. Because measuring temperatures that way leads to readings that are utterly inaccurate 90% of the time.

My FX-8350 has the exact temperature. It is always at 60-70 degrees. Stuck with it for 2 years, I should have went with an i5 instead (I got an i7 now though ^^).

AMD max temp is like 65 or something so as you can imagine it throttles 90% of the time.

When I make a post, unless I am the original poster or ask for a reply, don't bother replying or quoting me because I don't read them.

80C is safe.

This ain't Intel CPU.

That core temperature though. Do you have custom loop outside of your house?

This ain't Intel CPU.

My Phenom II P920 is safe at 80oC-until I cleaned out the heatsink and applied new thermal paste it sat at 89oC without throttling.

I know that this doesn't apply to all AMD's CPU's, but 80°c is too much for FX.

Make sure you didn't apply too much (or too little) thermal paste.

The CoolerMaster TX3 has gaps in between the heatpipes and the aluminum block -- you may need a bit more thermal paste than the usual "pea size on the center."
