Well i'm looking to get some to put in my build with my corsair h100i and such, to be perfectly honest i'm getting them for the looks, but i was wondering how loud are they? I'm going to get the performance editions. i know noctuas are the best but they are the worst looking fans in existence and they would ruin the look of my build (i know i'm shallow) so i was wondering how loud they are and how the performance is even though they are not the best fans.

From all the sound videos that I have watched they are pretty damn loud. If you want noise and performance I would suggest Noiseblocker Eloops or Silverstone AP 123.

They are pretty loud if you get the performance edition. If you want nice looking fans noiseblocke e-loops perform as good  and are as silent as the noctua nf-f12 and come in white and phoyba has a version in red.

They are pretty loud running a 12v (35dBA to be precise). If you are going to get them either put them on the 7v adapter that comes with them or get the PWM versions. Their performance however is really good running at 12v.

What about the quiet editions? from what i have seen the difference in temps are like 3C, i just like the red rings :P

They are quieter but I would also get the PWM function to make it even quieter.

The quiet editions are pretty quiet, but the performance decrease is more than 3C. In my testing on my waterloop ther was a 5C difference in just adapting the performance edition to 7v and the quiet editions are even slower then that.

as an owner of both the H100 and H100i, the stock fans are very loud when using

the performance profile on both. the balanced profiles are much, much quieter, but

can be audible depending on your tolerance to noise. the silent profiles are very

quiet (again, your idea of quiet), but the H100i allows you to customize your speeds

to temperature, if that is what you need/want. silent mode will have increased

temperatures under load, due to the lack of fan-speed.

i personally, do not use the profiles. i set the voltage via PSU molex connector and

run them 24/7 at that voltage. no increase/decrease sounds, just one speed.

you can run alternative fans and prolly enjoy that feature, but in most cases the

temperatures will increase over the stock fans supplied all for less noise.

Couldn't you put Noctuas in the roof or front of your build (between the rad and the case) so you can't even see them? Then you can have Corsair fans on the other side of the rad at a low rpm just for looks.

one thing i've noticed on the F12 fans is that they produce a drone when sandwiched

between the rad and chassis roof panel. not in all cases, but on my arc midi it was

mind-numbing. but using the F12 as pull, you kinda are not using "focus-flow" and

you might as well be using another fan.

the focus-flow maybe what is creating the sound?

You shouldn't use push pull with different fans in each side. One set of fans will end up carrying the other ones.

The SP120 quiet editions are great. If you get the PWM versions and use your motherboard to control them even better.

I've heard that the Noiseblockers have a clearance issue when used in pull on a rad. The fan blade has too much give and gets too close to the rad creating an annoying noise.

I didn't know that. I've been wondering for a while why I never see anyone doing that, but it turns out there is a good reason. Thanks!
