R9 390x or gtx 970 or gtx 980 with this motherboard/?

i went to buy the gpu and the guys at the shop are telling me that 390x , 970 and 980 are not compatible with this motherboard ( Motherboard [sLI] ASUS P8Z68-V Pro -- 3x PCI-E 2.0 x16, On-Board Bluetooth, Lucid Virtu Technology 1 )

 

i5 2500k

 

looking for 60fps at 1080p 

 

only run games like h1z1 dayz bf3 wow lol csgo etc.

As long as the motherboard has a pcie 2.0 16x or pcie 3.0 8-16x would be fine. I think 3.0 4x would also be fine

Yes its compatible if sub-optimal as long as it has PCI-E 2 or 3 itll work ok.

 

Just be aware trying to have a 970 and a 390X in the same system is possible but is major aggro
