[Help!] Windows 10 randomly wakes from sleep.

Go to solution Solved by Naeaes,

Look like the new mandatory updates. Officially it can't be turned off, but you can prevent it from turning on your computer if it's not already on. Here's a few solutions.

My PC keeps waking up from sleep since upgrading to Windows 10. I sometimes sleep it, come back 5 minutes later and it would have woken up. Sometimes I'll wake up from my sleep to see the lights on and the fans spinning. After some googling I found a command in the Administrator Console to show me why the last wake occurred. Here is what it returned.

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10240]© 2015 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg /lastwakeWake History Count - 1Wake History [0] Wake Source Count - 1 Wake Source [0] Type: Wake Timer Owner: [sERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\svchost.exe (SystemEventsBroker) Owner Supplied Reason: Windows will execute 'NT TASK\Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator\Reboot' scheduled task that requested waking the computer.

Could anyone help me interpret this? I have no idea what is going on, and it only started happening after a 2 week holiday, not as soon as I got Windows 10.

Thanks so much for any help.

Thanks for the help, but this cmd thing is telling me exactly what it is and I don't want to make changes that aren't really relevant. I've always had the same networking, mouse, keyboard, etc, but something has changed whilst on holiday. But, once again, thanks for your help. :)

Usually wakes up my laptop at about 8AM. Open task manager, kill rundll32 and put it back to sleep. If you don't kill Rundll32 the computer will just keep waking up. I've complained to MS about this already via their feedback app

It's completely blown out of proportion. Also if you're the least bit worried about data gathering then you should go live in a cave a 1000Km from the nearest establishment simply because every device and every entity gathers information these days. In the current era privacy is just fallacy and nothing more.
