Can't get a display

i built a computer with these parts but the monitor didn't detect the screen(There is no signal coming from your computer. Press any key on the keyboard or move the mouse to wake it up).

Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Black

PSU: Corsair CX 600M (600W 80+ bronze)

Ram: HyperX Fury DDR3 1866MHz 16GB Red 2x8GB

Optical drive: ASUS DVD Writer, DRW-24F1ST

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4GB

Motherboard: MSI Z97A GAMING 7, Socket-1150, ATX

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD

HDD: WD Desktop Green 3TB

using a hdmi 

Monitor: Dell 25" LED UltraSharp U2515H

 

Edit: the pc turns on but doesn't show up on the monitor

plugged the connector into the back of ur gpu?

If you're formally an engineer, avoid responsibility. That's what senior engineers get paid for.

So does the PC work ? Or does the pc work but does not detect the Monitor. I am slightly confused by what you just wrote.

try a different cable, or try your onboard graphics. and try a different monitor if nothing else works

You didn't really explain it well. Is that your PC turns on but no signal shows up on the monitor or the monitor doesn't turn on or the PC doesn't turn on.

So like the other people said. Is your Cable plugged into the GPU or the Motherboard? What video cable is it?

i have a pcie cable from the psu to the gpu so ithink all the cables are fine?

Have you tried taking the GPU out and seeing if it works with just on-board graphics. so without GPU installed?

hmmm based on what you've said i'd say maybe the PC is not booting properly . Obviously I'm not an expert so maybe someone else could shed some light?. Have you built a pc before? Are you following a guide / how have you built it?

no. this is the first time ive built a pc but i followed the guides that came with all the parts

looks ok to me from what i can see. do the gpu fans spin when you turn it on?

Edit: Yes it does seem odd to me. It looks like the GPU light is on too from the picture. is that right?

hmm. Have you tried clearing the CMOS to reset the BIOS ?

Make sure the ram sticks are locked in properly
