I plan on putting in six fans controlled manually by a by a NZXT Sentry Mix 2. That way I can turn on 4 fans when I'm not gaming and save the life of those fans.

If you're worrying for the life of the fans, you're getting the wrong fans. They're designed to run at 100% 24/7 but not always advertised as so.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

Where is the CPU cooler? And those Corsair fans are not really worth their money. Get some Phanteks, Be Quiet!, Noctua or Enermax Twister Pressure fans

Also, most boards ship with atleast two sata cables, so you don't need to order those.

Power supply is also overkill. And the obligatory "go for Intel" comment has to be made. Especially since you're going to be using an AMD graphics card. To get proper saturation, you really should consider the Intel route, or switch to Nvidia.

More than 2 fans is a waste? Bitch please, I have 3 120mm fans running at full speed and I have 3 more on the way.

... you didn't explain why that is benificiary. To use those superlatives, someone has to have made an erroneous comment. Don't see how your i3 + 280 could possibly require > 3 fans.

Mine runs on two fans... at <40% PWM full load.

I don't have an i3, I have an overclocked FX CPU. Still don't think I need 3 fans? Without any of the case fans on, I hit 80 as my max temp.

So use a cheap AIO like the H55 and get the heat out of the system. Don't buy extra fans that work at diminishing returns..

I do plan on getting a aftermarket CPU cooler later

Well it's mandatory for FX CPU's. So consider your options for platform carefully.

Yes the 970 board has a few features like better onboard audio and better crossfire capabilities, but if you care little for this ... the latter platform is better value. It also reduces the need for airflow and you can do without the 6 fans..

Or you can go halfway with a more premium i3 build.

Motherboard: MSI B85M GAMING Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($79.99 @ SuperBiiz)

amount of fans doesnt matter without knowing placement of fans.

The case with the best air cooling on the market has 2 fans.

They are just very well placed (and large)
