Cpu help!

Change power plan to Full Speed or High Performance in control panel-on windows 10 Win+X and choose control panel

Having problems with a brand new i5 4690k. I just installed windows 10, but the problem started before then. It is only running at .80ghz. Im using a seidon 120v cpu cooler.

What motherboard? And what BIOS update on it?

CPUs downclock themselves when there's little to no load to save power.

 

My i3 is at 1.7GHz right now with 6 programs open, just for an example.

If you want to fix it, go into power options, click the down arrow

and select High Performance, If it still doesn't work go into the Bios and disable speed step
