What is Killer E2200?

Just wondering. I rarely use ethernet because I never have the opportunity to have my setup close to any modem. But now I'm moving into a room that has the modem in it. And on my MSI mobo says it has killer ethernet which i never really pay attention to before.

It's the integrated ethernet adapter. Or the thing you plug your internet cable in to.

It's the brand of ethernet card your MOBO has. It is pretty generic.

It's just the NIC (network interface card, or ethernet port) chip. Like how some motheboards have Intel NICs and most budget systems have Realtek

It's a regular Qualcomm Atheros  chip with a fancy name on it. With crappy drivers and terrible bloated packet prioritization peace of sh... software that fucks up your internet connection.

im about to get new internet with 110 down and 20 up. will it work fine with this ethernet thingy

yes i believe so just don't use any on their package management crap.

i really don't have any problems but i don't have the fastest Internet either.

It's sad cause the only thing Qualcomm can do right is their modems.

If you really must use it, than I highly recommend doing that:

Turn your Killer E2200 NIC into Qualcomm Atheros AR8161

Just for the record, I do have it on my mobo, but I haven't even bother to install drivers for it. I have installed some generic PCI realtek lan card instead and never looked back.

k ill give it a try later when they install the fiber in my neighborhood
