Hey everyone,

Im doing a big system upgrade in a bit so I need to make one last decision:

Should I buy another GTX 970, asus strix version, or should I sell my 970 and spend a bit more cash on a gtx 980ti. Im just not sure if the 980ti would be smarter than saving 300 euros and getting another 970, especially with the possibility of DX12 memory stacking.

Thanks in advance!

-Gijs

I'd go for a 980ti, because sli has issues with stuttering... One single powerful gpu is best!

id say 980ti, my 970s run at 80ºC and 55ºC, so a single 980ti will run cooler, altough 970 SLI might have a few more FPS ive i remember correctly.

ive you do cuda based or GPU  rendering then id get another 970 though, since 2x rendering units and a few more total cuda cores

im going sli 970 over one 980ti, you will lose money selling the 970 and going to a 980ti, where as you will save money buying another 970, even if there are some sli issues on some games, on the games that have good sli the 970s will win.

Wait for Pascal in a few months :P,

Else single card usually beats dual card

By "a few months" you mean at least Q1 2016, half a year away?

Q3-4 is more realistic.

Ye probably around march, I am still rocking 290Xs; even a single one is pretty capable at 1080p, but I need CUDA and honestly even the 980Ti doesnt offer a decent performance upgrade in gaming.
