I'd look for a used 280x in that price range. Would be a huge performance increase.  You can probably find one new actually, if you look around.

Just looked on eBay. Found a brand new Gigabyte 280x for $175.

if you save up a little bit more (30 bucks) you can get a MSI 380! definitely worth the money when coming from a 660 :D

No. The 280x is a better card. And is cheaper.

>higher clock speed

>more VRAM

>wider bus

if you think about it bro, when it comes to amd, usually the x is better than the non x, unless youre talking 290x v 390 which the 390 wins as it is a newer card.

280,285,380,280x,290,290x,390,390x,fury,furyx  (worst to best)

the r9 380 is basicly a r9 285 that replaced the r9 280, so its not suprising that the 280x is better.

Anyways, what is the rest of the pc?

A 280x is only a 50% or so upgrade from a 660, if youve got an old cpu id upgrade that first.

i am using Intel Core i7-4770

so confusing no idea what to choose, i notice everyone is talking about AMD GPU only. GTX no good?

nvidia are good (better than amd imo) but they price there cards higher, cos nvidia... and greedy cunts.

id get a 770 tbh if you can find one that cheap, a 780 would be a steal for that price.

You could do that, too. The 770 and 280x trade blows with each other depending on the game. Both great cards.

But, you're not going to find a new 770 in that budget. And it's not worth paying more for the same performance, in my opinion.

Ok, that shouldnt be a problem.

Id hold of untill you can get something like a r9 290 though, that would be about 2x performance.

You can flip the 660 on ebay for 80$ or so, that should get you under 200 for a 290 (used 290s are also around 200 btw).
