Is this trade worth it?

Im selling my 2 x 4 (8 GB) low profile Unifosa RAM. They guy wants to trade a laptop with an AMD turion X2 64 1.60 GHz,2 GB of RAM and a 200 GB hard drive.

is this worth it?

That laptop "was" probably worth something like, $400 brand new most likely, maybe 6 years ago, but today? ... Not worth much. (I have a similarly spec laptop)

Still better than nothing. Did you need a laptop? If so, you could do a lot worse than that I guess.

Definitely ask him to try it out to make sure that it's fast enough for internet browsing. If so, do it. Otherwise, don't trade

8GB of ram is worth about $40 new. you could use the lappy for a low-power server or HTPC. 

 

It's hard to say, but i've seen laptops with those specs listed for $100-200 on craigslist. Craigslisters in my area tend to overprice things, but it would probably be a fair trade.

Mine can, but it's really not the same specs as mine is technically "better" spec wise. (but not by much)

 

You should try it out yourself, with a 1080p video or something. (You could sell the ram for between $20 and $40, a laptop that old would probably still sell for at least $50 today depending where you sell it.)
