In about an hour I'm heading to the Apple Store and still havent decided.

Option 1: Macbook "Retina" w/ Core M, 8GB Ram, 256GB SSD

Option 2: Macbook Pro Retina w/ Core i5, 8GB Ram, 128GB SSD

Usage: similar to a Chromebook tbh, I have a desktop for everything else. Must be very portable though. Both are about $1250 USD and come with a free pair of Beats Solo 2s (which I will be selling anyway since #ATHM50xMasterRace)

Why would you even waste your money on shitty Apple laptops....I bet you, you could get a way better laptop for the price of them.

Have the Macbook, its a great machine, just a little weak in the performance department. The battery is stupid good. If your "Chromebook" uses are light, I'd get the Macbook, but if you are like me and have 500 tabs on your web browsing machine then the MBP will be the better option.

It seems like the people who design Windows Laptops were high. No one makes good looking laptops that are well built and thin.

12". More storage.

......nope nope nope. No Apple, they suck. Go for a windows machine!! Surface Pro 3? Lenovo Yoga Pro 3?

Stay on topic.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

i5 is going to be faster, but more storage is more storage..

I think you should decide what you'd want more, or what you need more. If it's anything like a Chromebook use-case the Core M should do fine, you get more storage, and the battery life goes up.

In the end - I went with the Macbook Retina.

I've got 14 days to decide whether i like it or not and if I don't, ill take it back to apple and get the macbook pro retina instead.

Dell XPS 13"? Better CPU with a higher resolution at a cheaper price. While still keeping the great battery life.

MacBook is far from good value.

XPS is $200 more expensive and for just 4GB Ram and a 1080p screen. I used the Apple Back-to-school sale which gave me a $150 discount + a free pair of $230 Beats Solo 2s which I intend to sell.

I was looking at the retail pricing. For the XPS (i5, 8GB, 128GB, QHD+ Display) It is the same price as the base MacBook. Or $100 more for the 256GB SSD.

I cannot survive on an Core M myself and the i5 4210U is just enough to do what I want.

Though Dell will only take $30-$60 off for education pricing.

BTW: You get 8GB and 1080p for the MacBook price.
