Dedicated Photoshop Build

ImBleu

Here's the dealio. I work for a Private Yacht Club in the PR Department and I want some appraisals here.

We're tasked with consistently making advertisements for events which are on average 7ft x 10ft in size. These files in Photoshop tend to be in excess of 1.5GB each and the computer currently used is a Lenovo Thickcentre with a Sandybridge i3 and no dedicated GPU. Here's where you come in.

From using it for 2 hours, I discovered that to save the file takes on average 3 minutes - just for one photoshop workspace. I passed this on to the Manager telling him that the productivity of the department can be exponentially improved by getting a better computer for the Job as the department uses the same computers as every other department which works fine for Emails and Documents, but not for photoshop.

To reiterate, this computer will be used in a professional environment with no gaming done whatsoever.

Here's the Parts list I came up with for them, This computer has to be noticeably faster and perfect for dealing with the kind of workload expected from pretty much 24/7 Graphic Design. It'll be powering a single 21:9 1080p monitor.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790

MB: AsRock Z97M M-ITX

GPU: MSI R9 380 4GB

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866Mhz
SSD (Boot): Samsung 850 Evo 128GB

HDD: WD Green 4TB

PSU: Corsair CX600M (It's Super cheap)

Case: CM Elite 130 M-ITX

Price: $1120 USD

My Macbook Pro is already faster than their current system, so it doesn't take too much. My location is Hong Kong but prices are similar enough to the USA.

Any suggestions  / changes?

Thanks ;)

You shouldn't get a card like that for photoshop and rendering, also you should get the 4930 for more cores and threads.

How's this? Not the best GPU , but it doesn't make too much of a difference honestly. I would also suggest getting an SSD, that's pretty useful.

How's this?

Would prefer a Less-than-ATX system. Will look into the X99 Prices here.

A GTX780 Ti 3GB is the same price as the R9 380 4GB. Would the 780T have any advantages?

Thanks.
