New build. Problem installing 780

Go to solution Solved by NickTheMajin,

I just tried to a mini displayport cable as well from the monitor to the motherboard instead of the 780. Still nothing on the screen with that.

Edit: Used an HDMI cable to connect monitor to 780 and it worked! Not sure why display port won't but now I guess it's time for cable management and windows.

I pushed the 780 down and it snapped into the PCI port perfectly and the plastic holder snapped right backinto place . Problem though is that I cannot screw it in. The metal bracket on the 780 doesn't line up with the screw holes on my case. What should I do?

Try putting it in gently or in another slot

Alright, I had to press in a bit more firmly to actually snap it in. (Guess the plastic holder snapping back wasn't quite enough).

So I got everything plugged in and hit the power button. The power led comes on as do all of the fans (Including the CPU fan. The graphics card lights up (The GTX 780 text lights up) but nothing shows up on my screen. I'm connecting to a 2560x1440 Asus monitor with a display port cable.

The card is likely not completely in. Make sure that there is no copper from the PCIe interface exposed. You may also need to push on your card a bit(from the right side) to line it up.

Displayport is buggy. I also own the PB278Q and a GTX770 and sometimes when I wake up my PC from sleep, it just stays black. I found out it helps to turn on the monitor, wait about 15 seconds (until the screen goes black again and the power LED is orange) and then turn on the PC. Hope this helps.

FYI, Do not use HDMI since it achieves a maximum framerate of 44Hz at 2560x1440. Using Displayport is the right way to go.

Absolutely. The first thing I did when my drivers were fixed was to switch to display port.
