My school dropped the IB Computer Science course because they couldn't be bothered to find a teacher for it - forcing 15 students, me included, to take different courses.

well for my school i had quite a few choices for tech related stuff and i chose programming related stuff

Yeah, I couldn't get anything beyond some bullshit excel-word-powerpoint "tech" classes in my highschool. Would have been nice to have that experience since I'm going into CS.

Thank god the school im going to next year has about 4-6 separate tech related subjects

IT, computer science, CAD, Engineering, robotics and some more

public btw...

there are like so many tech classes at my school, so I wouldn't know. There's circuits, Unity, Flash and some other stuff like html in the year I'm in at the mo. 

Also this would be a good WAN show discussion.

At my high school, just this year they implemented a class called Computer Science and Software Engineering. Guess who instantly signed up?

in the 90s when I was in high school all the computer related classes were after school programs. Had to stay after school an extra hour to do networking/Cisco.

My high school has quite a few computer classes, 

 

1st year : Digital Technology's 1 (9DTH)

2nd year: Digital Technology's 2 (10DTH)

3rd year: Digital Technology's information (DTI11F) Requires 10DTH 

4th year: Digital Technology's Programming (DTP21F), Digital Technology's Media (DTM21F) Both require DTI11F unless permission gained from Head of department 

5th year Digital Technology's Programming (DTP31F), Digital Technology's Media (DTM31F) Both require previous version of subject unless permission gained from Head of department
