FAH Client Nuked

This is what I see in my Advanced Client:  (dialogue box)

"On client "local" 127.0.0.1:36330 Option 'gpu-index' has no default and is not set.

I open web client and not even my CPU is recognized (no work being done regardless), and just 15 minutes ago I was able to. I cannot even access the fukll extent of my "configure" menu to adjust my slots.

The very last edit I made was to change my CPU from my normal 10 threads to 4 as to prepare for folding gpu-heavy for the night... but something has gone horribly wrong.

I have COMPLETELY uninstalled FAH and re-installed it...but to no affect.

Does anyone know what is going on and how I might be able to resolve it?

When you uninstalled, did you make sure that the appdata FAHClient folder was deleted? I've had this happen quite a few times in the past and the closest thing I can attribute it to is a corrupted/broken configuration file.

Yes, make sure yo delete the data folder and a reboot in between the removal and re-install.

I had and this is the rsult:

After reinstalling in its entirety and starting back up, IO adjusted CPU to 4 threads and left GPU alone..at medium.

I received a similar error, where all values in the advanced client were unknown and nothing worked.

All folding was fine up to the point where I tried getting GPU to run at medium settings, as the CPU was working at 6 threads on Light.

Go into Configure and open up the GPU slot. The gpu-index should be visible. Enter a zero and click ok and try that.

The only option that exists is Connection, and all is grey'd out. I wish I could submit another screenshot. This is quite abnormal.

Will disable for tonight and attempt to fold beginning tomorrow morning... I suspect something has gone awry at Stanford.

@Omnislash89 You could try to open up the F@H config file and edit the GPU parameters. I had this happen to me when I removed a GPU before it was done folding, that is how I fixed it.

<!-- Folding Slots -->  <slot id='1' type='GPU'>    <client-type v='beta'/>    <next-unit-percentage v='100'/>  </slot>

That is what I have in my latest config file for my GPU located at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\configs, you should just need to change the slot id to some number between 0 and 5, it's probably 0,1, or 2. Maybe even try backing up and moving the config files and see if you can get it going that way.

@PhiberOptik I believe a hiccup at the server level caused this. Many reports similar coming in, and now it seems resolved. I will retain this information, however, in case my rig ever acts up in a similar way to your experience. Thank you!

many, many peoples gpu.txt file has been borked, it seems to get borked on rebooting, get a copy of the gpu.text file and replace yours.

you can find it with an internet search and also the simple instrutions on how to do it.
