Hi guys,

First of all, I don't know if this is the right section of the forum to drop this topic in but I didn't know where to put it else..

I'm searching for a entry-level mixer and a couple of cd-players to connect to my computer.

I don't want something very expensive, just something cheap and simple to see if I like it.

Has anyone experience with it? Any help is appreciated a lot!

grtz

I can't offer parts but you can go to pashop.com to buy them, I know a DJ and that is where he gets all his stuff.

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.

I heard a lot about those DJ 2000's, they're apparently very good but that's way over my budget unfortunately..

I'll probably go for digital mixing because of my music collection that I already have on my pc..

My budget is about 350 euro, will it be enough?

There are good reviews of this one: Reloop Mixage IE MK2, is this something good to start with?

To be honest I would personally wait until you have a little more money and get something like an NI S2. Those cheap end controllers are okay but don't give you long term usability. With that being said though, things like the low end Numark controllers are okay if you're just getting into it and want to learn the basics and see if you like it.

Such a S2 is really expensive for something I don't even know I'm good at..

I'll go for something low-end first, if I like it enough I can spend more money

Otherwise you could get Traktor or Serato or something similar and purely work off the computer without a controller for a while.

It highly depends on your budget and your aim: do you want to spin vinyl, CD's, digital or a mix of digital and either vinyl or CD's?

Once you answer that I can help you. My other note is preferably don't go with Behringer DJ equipment and don't get 2000's.

Why no love for behringer?  Sure they aren't the best, but they aren't designed to be.  For someone who doesn't even know if they are going to enjoy it or be good enough at it to continue then I think he should either go with your advice to trial a software only option at first, or he get the cheapest gear he can.

Second. Behringer is great low cost gear.

Yes, Behringer have some decent products like their Truth monitors or the amp design that they stole from QSC however their DJ equipment certainly isn't brilliant and their customer service isn't amazing when they break either. I know a couple of DJ's who have purchased Behringer DJ mixers and they all have the same complaints: crossfaders dying and pots dying.

As a general rule, I (and everyone else in the music industry that I have spoken to) stray from Behringer products.

They're cheaply made, they have bad CS, and most of there products have poor track records.

If they are in the industry I would hope so, but for some one experimenting at home, that is a different story.

Product failure is product failure no matter where the product is with this equipment. Some of their equipment I trust and endorse however others like their DJ mixers, I run from.

But it is a bigger issue if your desk decides to pack it in 5 minutes before the main show.  Most of my home studio is behringer (because I only tinker and can't justify big $ on a part time hobby) none of it has failed so far, fingers crossed it doesn't fail in the future.
