The i7 heatsink should havea a copper slug in the middle - if the C2D one has it then yes, if no, the no.

i have a useless core 2 duo e6400 and I noticed the stock heatsink on that is slightly bigger than the heatsink the i7 3770k has. Should I replace the heatsink from my core 2 duo into my i7 to get lower temps?

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB 

138 is a good number.

775 heatsink is smaller(by millimeters I think) and won't fit. I don't know how it's bigger, maybe your eyes are making tricks.

if they both fit on there, make sure you use the heaviest...don't go by size, but weight...the one that is the heaviest should have better performance.
