Intel LGA 1150 Stock cooler compatible with LGA 1151?

As the title says. I'm planning a new system which I plan to water-cool soon after (after taking measurements and finding out exactly what I can do) I still have the stock cooler that came with the 4690K in my current system. Will that fit and work as a placeholder until then? (I also have the Cryorig thermal paste which should improve it's performance a little)
