Never let your family decide whats best for you, you will end up with a job you hate. Go do something that you wanna do. Use the military to pay for college and you can get schooling for anything.

My family would agree on anything but military,

You dont need their permission once you turn 18

My family would disown me XD. Graduate high school at 17 btw... I started school early XD.

I think there is a common misconception that the military is just there just to goto far away lands and kill people, .... they help alot in both international issues and domestic

I know, but it's the leaving part that really hurts.

Honestly, you should be more worried about your PSAT and SAT scores junior year. All this conjecture about the future is pretty pointless at your age. Finding your path in life, especially for an Asian American, occurs in college. There's a reason why you can be undeclared for two years in college while pursuing an BA.

Things you should keep in mind as a Junior:

  • What is my target university?
  • What PSAT/SAT scores should I aim for to reach that university?
  • What are my interests and possible career paths in those interests?
  • What subjects am I genuinely good at in school?
  • How can I apply my talents in the aforementioned subjects in a job?

All of these are big factors in your life. These are not in order, and each point can heavily influence the other. For example, here in Texas, if you'd want to study medicine, you might want to aim for University of Texas or Rice University for their connections with medical schools. If you wanted to be an engineer, A&M would a good alternative, since they offer a great engineering program.
