PC only booted once?

Go to solution Solved by BeakTrots,

UPDATE I FIXED IT! it had to do with me starting it with a screwdriver, unplugging it, replugging it and trying to start it again

Put everything in, plugged it in to an outlet and jumped it with a screwdriver because my case power button is broken. It's my first time building so I'm pretty scared. It boots! Fans start spinning and I can hear it working. So i go to unplug it and I take the cord out of the psu. I try to boot it again and I have changed nothing, and it just wont boot. No fans, no sounds. What could have happened that made it not boot a second time?

that sounds like nonsense, there should be a switch on the back of the psu like a light switch

Sorry but your wrong....they all don't have a switch.

Do you have a GPU plugged in? If so, that PSU might not even be powerful enough to run your machine.

I'd unplug everything, plug a fan directly into the PSU, take a paperclip and bend it into a U shape. Stick one end into the green wire and the other into a black wire (any one will do) on your 24 pin connector. Then plug it in. If the fans start spinning than we know it's not your PSU. Might have shorted something out on the motherboard.

bump

put the red switch back where it was when you got the PSU, That changes voltage , if you did it while running you've fucked the PSU( there would be smoke and a bang)
