Installing OS on a SSD but having programs and games on separate drives.

I'm fairly new to this forum so i don't know if this is the right place to ask.

It's just im planning on building a gaming pc in the new year but i'm unsure if i can install windows on a 60GB SSD my games on another 60GB SSD and programs on a 1TB hard driv

120gb SSD Windows +Programs
HDD for games 
 
 
SSD doesn't do jack for games other than loading times.
 
use the ssd for windows and programs 
then put games on hdd.

A 60gb SSD for games won't hold that many games. Also, that won't even hold a copy of GTA V.

Yes, and put the games on the 1 TB hdd

and programs on the ssd

Yes, get a single 120gb ssd and then a large HDD for games and other large apps.

I'm not planning on storing all of my games just the ones that i play a lot of the ones i dont play as much will go on the hard drive

Instead of getting a 120GB one, just get a 250GB 850 EVO....

500GB 850 Evo is super cheap... i would get that and then put games programs and os and then less used stuff on hdd maybe a wd black so it will still be pretty good

Ok thanks ill probably just go for a 250GB i could probably get My OS most used programs and a couple of my most played games thanks for the help

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

You're not gonna be able to fit much more than a OS and few programs on a 120GB SSD let alone a 60GB one. Although I was using over-provisioning so that took 10GB off my capacity. I had to upgrade to a 250GB SSD so I could upgrade to Windows 10 despite having all my games on a HDD.

samsung evo 250

or crucial mx200/mx100

Yes that will work, however it would be a better idea to get a 120GB SSD
