About 16h/day usually. I am known to fall asleep watching a movie or something and leave it on all night, though.

Let's be honest, it's 24/7.

Mobiles can be thought of as computers.

We use them to call and use them as our alarms.

That take cares of the sleeping time as well.

24/7 365. I used to put it to sleep when I wasn't using it, but doing that causes harddrives to disappear in windows file explorer so I stopped.. As for why I don't shut it down.. It just takes to long to get started up. I'm good on the boot times, I just like to have my programs launched and ready when I wake up. I would be fine with the wait if I had an SSD, but I dont, so for hard drives I leave it running.

every moment I am awake, For the most part I am at my computer.

Besides the little break I take to go get some food, or occasionally head over to my friends

I was about to say, you should really invest in an SSD. Mine is booted up and programs open in around 10 seconds.

I would but my motherboard is SATA2 not sata3 bc i made a mistake on my build :( it's also maxed out CPU wise so I have to get a cpu+ssd+motherboard to truly get an SSD experience. (I need to up the CPU at some point as I can barely handle GTAV with an R9 270x)

My computer is a file server for people in the house and is quite often downloading things overnight.

It's quiet enough to leave running and having a low volume TV series going helps me sleep.

24/7 folding with TitanX fan @ 100% :)

My last PC (only recently built this new one) was on 24/7 too (i7-980x) for years (though it didn't fold), without any issues. ..Well aside from ramping up my power bill.

On weekdays: about as long as I am home, that is around 7 hours, when taking out sleep and time spent in school.

On weekends and holidays: as long as I am awake, that is around 15 - 21 hours? I usually wake-up at around 12 PM or later, and go to sleep (and put computer to sleep mode too, not shutting down unless absolutely necessary) at 1 - 4 AM.

Though if I leave home for longer than for example half an hour, I'll put it to sleep mode. Less than that, and I'll most likely just keep it running.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

My own main pc is almost 24/7 on (sometimes it goes down for updates).

Got a raspberry pi running a small website that is on 24/7.

My macbook is mostly on when not at home, work computer is also on 24/7 with a script to auto clean it and install updates.

Don't really want to know what the combined electrical bill is of this all but it is a lot.

Pretty much 24/7. I usually leave it running overnight downloading files or working on long encoding queues. Even when it's just idling I tend to leave it on when I go to bed because I've grown accustomed to the "white noise".

24/7, unless the power goes out. If I'm awake I'm on it, and I need the white noise from the fans to get to sleep at night. Pure silence makes my ears ring and it drives me insane.
