So, I'm wanting to install my Samsung 850 Evo SSD behind my Mobo, but I don't see how it is possible to connect both the SATA and Data cables to it.  It may be possible, but space is minimal.  In addition, I don't really understand how the same SATA cable would be able to reach both my HDD that would be mounted on the 3.5" bay within the Fractal Design Core 2300 and the SSD behind the mobo.  Anyways the reason why I want to make this work is because I will be installing the ASUS GTX 970 STRIX, and as you all know it is a beast, measuring in at 11" x 5.5".  According to PCPartpicker, its length/height may obstruct the drive bays, causing some of them to not be usable.  By installing the SSD behind the mobo, I was hoping to avoid this entirely, and just worry about installing one storage device in that area, which would be the Seagate Barracuda.  What do you guys think is possible/the best option in this scenario.  Thanks in advance.

Are there any disadvantages to mounting it behind the mobo besides it taking up space?  Curious because I am unable to find any videos, in which a person does so.  Doesn't seem like the popular choice.  Thanks.

It's not that popular because not many cases have mounts on the back of the motherboard tray.

There's no problems in doing that, but it's kind of uncommon for cases to have a mount behind the motherboard. You could velcro the SSD anywhere you want in the case. SSDs don't really mind where they are (I have one just hanging loosely inside of my server chassis against the sidewall)
