Before u start reading this note i live in india and everything is about 50 $ more from us rate's

so 2.5 years ago i built a pc i cheap-ed out on some things and it came biting me in the ###

the things i cheap-ed out on pc case , cpu cooler , motherboard , psu and monitor

now i got 510 $ to fix it up and i need ur valuable opinion on parts guys

the rig i made two years ago

  • Cpu - 8350
  • Ram - CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 x2
  • Motherboard - GA970A DS3 Rev 1.1
  • Gpu - 7870 Ghz edition sapphire
  • Hardisk - 1 Tb Samsung SATA
  • Case - elite 310 'standard' by Cooler master
  • cpu cooler - 212 evo
  • psu - 500W cooler master thunder
  • Monitor - 1600x900 monitor by AOC

so for this fixer upper my first job was to rma everything to be sure the parts i am using aren't bad of any sort ...

now i need to select new parts and thanks to this awesome community i already have selected some of the parts which i can manage to buy !

but here are the part's i am looking to change motherboard , psu , case , cpu cooler  and **monitor if i have any budget left**

and before u tell me to use some of the old parts which i want to change i should inform u the issues i am having

u can just skip this part if u want to no bigge ...

ill start with

motherboard - everything external does not work eg - external hardisks in usb 2.0 ports for some reason , it runs my ram on 1333 mhz by defualt if i oc it then it wont boot if i oc it manually it will boot but will increase cpu temps by 10 c , it does not support my cpu officially yeah i know i am idiot i bought it in the first place ..

cpu cooler - well the room temperatures is so hot here even with 6 fans in the case it went 80 c while playing cs go and it would even go higher if i played without v sync

psu - no issues yet though its cheap quality so maybe its causing issues i just  cant tell

case - its just shit and i just want to change it :P

monitor - no issues yet

ok u can continue reading now

now the parts i have selected

motherboard - MSI 970 gaming

psu - Seasonic S12G-650 650 Watts PSU

case - NZXT Phantom 240 Mid-Tower Chassis  will my gpu fit in this case ?

cpu cooler - Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX Extreme will this install on 8350 ?

i do not know much in this area can anyone care to explain heard alot that water coolers are just pumps waiting to fail ?

also i need some one who can tell me where i can buy cheap dust filters as there is no site which sells it here in my country and my pc gets really dusty since i am opting for a window case i really do not want it to get dusty thanks :D

ps - i live in india thanks again ur help is appreciated

if u want to know where i shop from

theitdepot , flipkart  , snapdeal , primeabgb , mdcomputers , amazon,in

i basically buy from which ever one is selling it cheap

isnt dual rail better ?

In reality, yes, yes it is. I learned when a system I worked on the 12v rail shorted cause of a form of bad connection. Luckily it was dual 12v and only lost the hard drive, nothing else. Also that psu is a tank :D

They're about the same theses days, usually before you would have to balance your systems components on both rails to not overload a single rail, most PSU's are single rail theses days or have multiple rails joined together to make it a single rail so you have nothing to worry about balancing.

Dude the 970 Gaming is shit board due to shitty VRMs and Mosfets, best off getting a UD3P, M5A97 R2.0, or a 990FX non MSI/Asrock board.

He had a thread earlier talking about how in his case its really the best/only option. Also he is not overclocking so he should be more than fine. :)

i have been running my 8350 on stock for last 2 years the board still works fine its 4+1 ur argument is invalid !

Haha nope, you had a GIGABYTE board which is different that the MSI board that you want.

The VRM design is way different from MSI's which is shit.

I'm not going stop you buying a 970 Gaming, but i'm going say it's not recommended at all. If it blows up then don't go to me blaming as i said avoid MSI AM3+ boards.

The 9590 is basically a 8320 clocked at 5GHZ.

Here's a example...

That's not a very good example, the 970A Krait is only a 4+1 board, you are NOT supposed to run a 9590 in it so that fire was because that guy is stupid and didn't buy a board that has good enough VRMs to support his PC. The 970 Gaming is a 6+2 and the 8350 uses a lot less power. It will be fine.

970 Gaming is better then M5A97 R2.0, MSI's older VRM designs on AM3+ were shit I do agree, but the 970 Gaming is much different and improved from their past garbage

i have been running my 8350 on stock for last 2 years the board still works fine its 4+1 ur argument is invalid !

4+1 will handle 125W stock. I've been running my Phenom II X6 on 4+1 with a slight overclock (2.8 to 3.2) for the past 3 years, on an Asus M5A88-M (no VRM heatsinks) and have not had a single issue, still going strong today. However personal experience != real-world results, so the higher quality of a board you can buy the better.

So @Gofspar is stupid?

hmm was probably thinking some other board

But still the 970 gaming is crap from what i seen as the board may still fail because of no VRM overvolt protection unlike other boards.

If in a 1st world country and bought FX instead of Intel, yes.

Should not be an issue at stock speeds though. If overclocking I would definitely suggest the UD3P instead but at stock I wouldn't mind the 970 Gaming especially if looks is a concern
