How would I go about getting one monitor to run off my GPU and one off the motherboard/iGPU

dert882

My current setup is a GTX 970, i5-4590, 16 gb ram, and my motherboard is the Z97X-SLI. I've tried finding out an answer but nothing seems to be specific enough to help.

You have to look in your motherboard's BIOS to enable iGPU.

Any reasons you are not just connecting both monitors to your GPU?

Sorry, It can't be done. The GPU needs to be physically pulled out of the socket and the machine rebooted. Technically you could put the GPU on an extension and use relays to cut the connection and then reboot, but it'd still be either or.

EDIT: OK, it's been a while since I checked. A really long while, but now that I did, Virtu is available for desktop too. If your motherboard is supported, it could solve the problem: http://lucidlogix.com/support/faqs/

I've noticed that when I'm playing a game and have something else on my second monitor like a youtube video, the main monitor appears to have some frame dropping, even though my FPS number doesn't drop.
