Enough thermal paste?

Ive built tons of PC's and i get great temps by not gooping it everywhere.

A pea size or grain of rice is about all that's needed for either the gpu or cpu.

the first pic's thermal paste load temp was 77c @ 58% fan spd

the second pic thermal paste load temp was 78c at 45% fan spd...

Try just a little pea size amount in the center. Some pastes need time to cure. Don't remember if Mx-4 does. Just run a benchmark for an hour, record temps, and then repeat the same thing the next day to see if its changed.

one drop is enough. Im not quite sure why they think they need to cover the whole surface. all that does is increase the heat.

there is no heatspreder on the GPU core. That's why you spread. You need thermal paste on the GPU Core. That is why spreading is recommended more, for GPU's.
