Blue Screen Windows 10

Go to solution Solved by EliteSprrow,

Here is the solution for everybody that is having the same problem:

The problematic file is: cpuz138_x64.sys

Solution: Delete it.

Path: %TEMP%\cpuz138

In order to delete it, you will have to perform a clean boot.

Hi all, firstly thank you for the help!

So, I am having a small problem here. I upgraded to windows 10 and everything was fine, until some days ago when I started getting the same blue screen when I start my computer, here is what happens:

I start my computer, and it runs in normal speed, despite from the keyboard, that types with delay if I try to write something right after windows opening. And if i push it too hard (opening to many applications etc),I get this blue screen:

4PgwbuD.jpg

Then I got some clues this error was RAM memory malfunction, because of that, I ran the memtest86 and I got no errors, but it was showing 800mhz in my mem speed:

p8BGnSW.jpg

So I checked my Bios and it was correctly saying 1600mhz in my mem speed.

What should I do? Just ignore the blue screen and hope it never happens anymore? Because it only happened like 3 or 4 times in days.

The MHz could just be the DDR=Double Data Rate -thing. I haven't used Memtest86 since the early days of the reboot so I can't remember if it gives the bus clock or the data transfer clock. Can someone verify?

I'd imagine OP retained his programs during the upgrade and the issue is caused by the obsolete CPU-Z.

Two. Total run time: 2:40h

well the fact that its crashing...almost certainly means you got a hardware problem

have you done a clean install?

or upgrade only?

If you need remote help fixing something on your computer

I can help over Teamviewer if you wish

just msg me on my profile

Upgrade only.

Why dont I let this post opened, and if it happens again I come back here. Because I have done some things:

1- Set the memory speed to 1600mhz, because it was 1333.

2- Unninstalled cpu-z like they suspected up there

3- Deleted the old windows from themporary files that was making my local disk full

you should run a burn in test

it would help narrow down the problem

Finished, it gave me a fail because of the drives E and F that I think are virtual drives, how can I share it with you?

Edit: E: DVD RW DRIVE

        F: BD-ROM DRIVE

well the first thing I see is that there is a bios update for the motherboard

I did update everything and right after that I got the blue screen again

I had that happen on my laptop during beta :D if you combine flash + cpu-z you get that bsod :D i just turned off flash :D

Even flash thats sandboxed inside chrome would cause issues.

I know the problem probably comes from cpu-z, I already unninstaled that, but I am still getting the error. I found this on the internet:

http://www.tenforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/4768-page_fault_in_nonpaged_area-cpuz138_x64-sys.html

And people say it is from Speccy or Cpu-z, but I have none, and they say the problematic file (cpuz138_x64.sys) is in temp folder. But it is not in mine either.

I would just do a clean install bro, I know it may be a hassle to redo everything but I'm having 0 problems with Windows 10. Try everything these nice helping people are telling you and if that doesn't help do a clean install.

Yeah, just where the OS will be installed. Like you I have a drive(SSD) for the OS and programs, and another drive(HDD) for storage. The storage(secondary HDD) doesn't have to be touched at all. :)

Settings>Update and Security>Recovery>Reset this PC

In case you were wondering.

Yeah, I did some more research and figured that out.

There is a picture of the blue screen, it is all that shows up

Also, try resetting your cmos of your mobo. Then make sure everything is running well in your bios. Just want to see if that works.

thats not totally a clean install

a clean install is generally ..deleting the partition

remaking it..and doing a full reinstall

If you need remote help fixing something on your computer

I can help over Teamviewer if you wish

just msg me on my profile

I know what a clean install is(and that's not the point of my post), for us that upgraded and didn't buy Windows 10 Pro it is a method that is working almost as a clean install. You came here "correcting" but you ended up not helping at all. If you got any more "correcting" to say and will not help the OP then you can make another thread about it. I will not take part of this "thing" some of you guys do and flood the thread with pages "discussing" to get thousands of posts.

So, you guys got me a little bit confused here, so I got some questions now:

1- should I try that "Reset This PC" or deleting the partition? I think that, by the discription of the error I am getting, a "Reset this pc" should be enought, because the corrupted file (cpuz138_x64.sys) would be deleted.

2- Reset This PC deletes all drivers and stuff like that?

3- Why would someone want to "flood the thread with pages "discussing" to get thousands of posts."?

PS: Loved your avatar
