Ball Grid Array. The method used for CPU's that are soldered directly to a board. IE. ultraportables, phones, tablets and consoles

When in doubt, re-format.

BGA = Ball Grid Array.

OP's Laptop CPU overheated and the BGA soldering melted, making the laptop effectively useless. PC users have a socket that their CPU goes in, with laptops their CPUs are usually soldered to the motherboard.

guys need your help   i got a clevo w370et laptop and the bga overheated so i need to reball i t do you know anyone in london that can fix it   bga 25x25mm 989 Ball FCBGA manual http://www.manualslib.com/manual/674853/Clevo-W370et.html?page=52#manual thanks smile.png

When this happened to the PS3 people were able to put their motherboard in the oven and that would sort out the problem albeit temporarily. I wouldn't recommend doing that to yours. Isn't your laptop under warranty of some sort? How did this happen?

It's completely blown out of proportion. Also if you're the least bit worried about data gathering then you should go live in a cave a 1000Km from the nearest establishment simply because every device and every entity gathers information these days. In the current era privacy is just fallacy and nothing more.

nop no warranty and overheated dust in the fan when i noticed the temps it was a little to late. a dude removed the chip using a heat gun but without the template i cant reball it so i cant use so am looking for a company in london that might have it. i tried contacting clevo several times but no response, quite bizarre remind me never to trust clevo again. with no options i came here
