i just got my G930 today and it works great

the keys on the side are really useful

sound quality is pretty good

their software is easy to use

the only complaint i would have would be that the earcups are a little too loose

i guess logitech is trying to make it flexible but they might have overdone it a bot

battery life is around 10 hours so it depends on your needs

overall i like it, it suites my needs

also newegg has a refurbished model of it for around 40 bucks

A better option is to get a good pair of headphones like Sennheisers, Audio Technicas or AKGs and a modmic. Not as cheap, but the sound will be far, far superior.

Yeah some friends of mine recommended Sennheisers and a modmic. I just want to blow like $60 on a headset while I save up though.

They're all pretty similar I believe, but none are that great audio quality wise. I've heard the Hyperx Cloud 2's are the best headset in that price range but I've never used them. Sennheiser HD 558's are generally about $100 but you'd need to get an external microphone; however, they're amazing value imo. This cheap mic is pretty decent http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1439344139&sr=1-1

My G930's have lasted for about 2-3 years but nowadays they disconnect all the time and the battery life is pretty rubbish. Unless you want wireless I'd advise against them.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

headphone + modmic

I've tossed my g430 away for my m40x and a zalman clip mic LOL

Depending on how much you save up I'd get something from the Sennheiser HD series and (if you have the money) an Antlion 4.0 ModMic.

I like mice and keyboards and the sort

Philips SHP9500 + V-MODA BoomPro = Less than $100

Great audio quality, best bang for your buck, and headphone element up-gradable moving into the future.

Mic is comparable to the ModMic but cheaper and with a much cleaner overall cable setup... with the limitation your headphones need to have a standard 3.5mm jack to plug it in. From Monoprice to Audio-Technica there is a wide variety of headphones to use as it is a very standard cable size.

If your budget is going to be $250 get a modmic and something like the ATH-M50x or a pair from Sennheiser for a similar price. That will be cheaper and much better than anything a headset will give you.
