Avast: Your Computer Is Running Slowly?

This random message popped up from Avast saying that my PC was running slowly and it said that there were 38 "Useless Programs" Running in the background. The PC works fine, Should I be worried?

 Case: Define R5 I GPU: G1 GTX 970 I CPU: i5 4690k I RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X I PSU:  EVGA 750B2 I Cooler: Noctua NH D15

I'm more worried about you running avast than having "useless programs".

 

Hell, we used to use avast at work and it said chrome and Office were useless.

We can't work without Chrome and Office. lol.

Eh? Avast bundles Chrome with it (or at least it used to within the last 6 months)...

 

Just switch on silent/gaming mode. :)

Avast the useless program.

You should not be worried unless your computer is noticeably slow or if you don't download crap.

As said, don't worry about it; it's their way to get you to upgrade. You can always re-install Avast without the 'grime-fighter' tool and other bloatware... or switch to BitDefender Free. Use CCleaner and don't pay attention to Avast.

 

Side Note: if you find your web browsing slower than usual, check the "Web Scanner" feature in Avast, it likes to scan every link and script on the page.
