static electricity 100%

in ur case i would take apart the entire pc run the motherboard on a desk with a antistatic bag and see if it resolves, if u cant find any solution to it at all just rma the board

it works fine with a usb dolby adapter.... im pretty sure its a software issue dou

thats because a usb adapter is a total different signal, and will not interfere from static electricity as easy as an analog signal from a soundcard

the last thing i could ever think of it beeing is ASPM control enabled in bios ( disable it ) its a powersaving feature on the pci lanes ( doubt it tho sounds just like static electricity )

if I bought a USB to 3.5mm jack adapter would I be losing audio quality or does it just depend on how good the adapter is? or how good the gold jack is?

to be honest usb soundcards arent my speciality, gonna have to ask the community for that..   all i know is that the creative soundblaster usb stickies are pretty decent and the asus xonar ones

talking about that, im using a recon3d fatality champion... expensive but the best sound ive heard on any pc ( i love good sound aswell )  im running it 24bit 192khz ofc proper bass boost... but bewarned with that card as soon u install it first time its gonna be on 50% volume and it will blow ur ears out just with the windows booting sound ( that amp is damn extreme )

if u want a soundcard go with a recon3d ( normal one, not bulk )

soundblaster audigy is so old ( that thing is from the old pci age lol, i had that in a pentium 2 and a celeron ) ... its not worth it anymore :P

To get ride of the static you're going to have to do your digital conversions outside of the case. so a USB DAC is your best solution. There are all kinds of USB DAC and DAC/AMP out there. Do a quick google search and check out head-fi.org or other audio forums to get into the details.

I would recommend anything by Schiit or FiiO both make great products.

I never said that you weren't able to. Just that a lot of the leg work has been done and discussed over there so it would be easier to just look at those past conversations. Also it has a larger user base so there is more knowledge to pull from. Just other resources to use.
