Ok guys how bad is TN compared to IPS will i feel alot of difference if i went for 144hz // G-syng // TN  instead of IPS

Because 750Euro for 144hz // G-syng // IPS is extremely expensive !! :D

Is 1440p worth over 1080p ?  I never used anything higher than 720p and on the videos i watched i kinda dont feel anthing beetween this two.

And just for info i will go 980ti GPU in both cases ( 1080p // 1440p )  i dont want to buy GTX970 or GTX980.  I feel like i will be ok for long time with 980ti

1440p makes a massive difference. the colour in ips is also good but the only gsync monitor so far to do all of that is the acer and lets be honest it looks like shit :( id hold off a few month save some more and get the 1440p gsync ips asus rog. believe me when i say 1440p makes 1080p look like u have a downgraded gpu it is really that much better..... iv played both on a titan x

if playing fast paced fps or anything else get the tn 144hz gsync

High-grade TN panels are pretty good. The difference won't be as enormous as going from a generic TN panel to an IPS one, though I'd still take IPS over the high-grade TN.

Personally I do think 1440p is a good increase over 1080p, if only for the extra desktop space.

I agree. There are instances where you would be hard pressed to discern the two in a double blind test, and would require careful analyzing.

The most noticeable difference between my Dell (IPS) and Asus (TN) are the white and black levels. The rest are nearly identical.

TN is fairly annoying when adjusting your head up and down. The slightest movement and you will notice colour shift.

It's not as bad from side to side though.

That being said, not all TN panels are the same.

Personally I'd prefer 60hz ips over 144hz tn.

The Asus RoG Swift has a great TN Panel, one of the best available if you're looking to that, the main change from it and an IPS wouldn't be the colour accuracy, but the viewing angles, for some that isn't an issue, and it may not be with you, for me it was slightly in the vertical sense, and I ended up selling my RoG Swift in favour of now awaiting to buy a 3440x1440 display (Just waiting now for a potential certain release, I'm not in a rush).

But anyway, if you wanted to wait a bit you could also wait and get the IPS version of the RoG Swift, review sites should be getting a simple within the next couple of weeks, or at least tft will, so I'd expect a release of it soon too.

As for 1440 v 1080, it's a big change, both for visuals and productivity. I'd get it if I were you, especially since you're getting a 980Ti

I think @Glenwing was just saying the extra screen real-estate was the biggest factor to get 1440 over 1080, which I agree with, it's a bigger reason for me than the better visuals. Although that could be because I do a lot of productivity things, more so than gaming most of the time.

Although I do agree with you in the sense that it does make the game look visually better.

I do actually miss the 1440p resolution the most from my old RoG Swift, over g sync and 144Hz. (That's my personal opinion though, ik some people who go Gsync and 144Hz would swear they could never go back aha)

Well as i said i never try anything higher than 720p on real life. I just try to compare 1440p // 1080p watching online videos.

I can get 1440p 60hz at the price of 144hz TN 1080p .... decisions, decisions everywhere !

you cant compare 1080p vids to 1440p online because you will never see 1440p unless u have a 1440p monitor, trust me 1440p at 27 inches is perfect

1440p is 4x the resolution of 720p. The difference between 1080p and 1440p on a monitor of the same size is significant. The smaller the 1080p monitor becomes, the higher the DPI becomes and therefore the closer it will resemble the DPI of 1440p.

Nuuu! Don't compare videos aha, you wont see the real difference, if you can try going to a PC store or w/e and see if they have any 1440p monitors on display, although if your country is like the UK most tech stores will barely even have a single IPS 1080p monitor on display still >.<

As for the price, how big of a deal if G sync to you? Because you could get the Asus MG279Q, 1440p 144Hz, IPS (although it is freesync) for less than the Asus PG278Q which is the TN 144Hz 1440p

I'm not saying it isn't a good improvement :P

Just for me personally so is the extra display space, which for me is the bigger improvement.

But both are still great improvements to me, and I still 100% recommned the 1440p over 1080p if he can afford it with a 980Ti.
