Is there a program for windows were i put the system under load, but set just how much load i put it under?

Like if i wanted to run the CPU at 75%-80% usage, instead of 100%(like if i used prime95)Or does such thing not exist?

Depending on the program, the CPU load might be spread across all cores, or even a single core, meaning you won't feel that the CPU is under load. An Intel CPU under 90% or even 100% load won't have much of a performance impact (in my experience anyway) unless the user is doing something that actually needs the extra performance while the CPU is already under load.

An AMD CPU would probably not like this very much.

Edit: Look what I found! https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool-64-bit-

The purpose of the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool is to verify the functionality of an Intel® Microprocessor. The diagnostic checks for brand identification, verifies the processor operating frequency, tests specific processor features and performs a stress test on the processor.

The diagnostic can be configured to execute in one of two modes, presence test mode or verification mode. Additionally, it can be configured to enable (run) or disable (skip) individual default configurations that are used for this mode of operation.

It's completely blown out of proportion. Also if you're the least bit worried about data gathering then you should go live in a cave a 1000Km from the nearest establishment simply because every device and every entity gathers information these days. In the current era privacy is just fallacy and nothing more.

To simulate partial load

Is there actually any benefit to that rather than just fully load your chip? I mean you could just put in under full load and monitor when it got to a certain temp and usage, etc through AB or something, since it has active time tracking.

it's really more to simulate more of a natural load and heat test server rooms (limited use), and more realistic heat output test for laptops, at least in my experience. Really niche use, but for a lot of things, you are not gonna find your cpu under the kind of pure usage that calculating prime numbers on each thread does. In fact, in most non-calculation uses, you really will never see the kind of usage and heat output that prime95 shows, which is why people use it- it's a "worse case scenario", and if you have no cooling problems doing a stress test, you will not have any under any other circumstance.

If you have a laptop with prime 95 running, it will get much hotter than it likely would under any normal use scenerio

Sorry guys i fell asleep at my chair.

The reason i want to do it is because with in the next couple temps out side will be going down, and the heater is our house is broken, it can get cold in the house at night.

So i wanted to use some of my extra pc(i have like 6) as a way to heat my small room(10ftx10ft),we have fire place but it is on the other side of the house, plus it is not exactly safe to leave it going over night.

But i don't want to run them at max 24/7 all winter due to them being OEM pc's with crappy cooling,i am worried that the prolonged heat might blow a cap(or PSU),i have plans for most of them and would rather not kill them.

That is why i want to run them at 75%-80% instead of 100%,i would rather use more at lower usage for less risk.

I know you guys are going to say why not get a space heater, but i would not fell safe leaving a space heater on over night,i would be fine leaving a few pc running over night,i leave my main rig on over night.
