Firestrike 1.1 - +200MHz, a new OS and (almost) a month later

So far I've been pleased with my budget build and its performance. I've upgraded things whenever I could and at this point I think I can safely say I'm done for a while (except I'm still going to have to buy a proper HDD).

 

tl;dr version: I OC'd my CPU by 200MHz since my last FS 1.1 benchmark and installed Windows 10 (via upgrade). Tonight I ran FS 1.1 again for the lulz and out of curiosity.

It ain't much, but an improvement is an improvement. A lil' bit of tinkering here and there and I'm fairly certain I can get more out of this rig :)

Don't even ask. It's SATA 1, even! I've yet to buy a proper HDD and am currently running a 3-way hdd mess (80/120/240)

Well... SATA 1 is enough for HDDs in most cases... Anyway, when you upgrade you'd do some stupid things with them like RAID 0 them for the lulz (though you'll lose some capacity in the array)

I am a firm believer in the mantras of: If it ain't broken, use it. If it's broken, fix it or make something out of it.

 

 

i run a sata3 ssd on my sata1 laptop, its all about them IOPS

 

I actually stripped my laptop and got its Sata 2 drive and put it into the PC (laptop was being a whiny bitch at that point. had enough of it)
