Spilled on my cpu.

Go to solution Solved by xToFxREAPER,

I think I wrote something wrong but it wasn't thermal paste on the "golden" side it was ArctiClean.

your fine man, as some of the others mentioned if anything was gonna happen it would have happened already. if its running as it should then your not gonna havea a problem :)

So I basicly was cleaning my cpu to reaply the thermal paste. To clean the cpu I used ArctiClean.

I took the cpu out of the socket to clean it :P going to celan it inside the socket nest time :P

Then a drop came og ArctiClean came on the "golden" side of the cpu. I took some paper and carefully wiped it over the wet spot, and then I blew some air on it.

And I am wondering if you guys think it is okay.

I have been running prime95 small fft for an hour now, and it works, but I am still worried, and want to hear your opinions.

The cpu is an intel core i7 2600k, I currently don't have it overclocked.

Thank you :)

If it's working with no problems, then it's fine.

So long as you cleaned off the thermal paste from the gold contacts you should be fine, if something was going to go wrong mate it would have done it already.

you should be fine. At the very least you might have just taken some life off the backend of your cpu.

and pretty sure the only conductive thing is thermal paste as mentioned.

Not all thermal paste's are conductive

Just re-read what you typed and it's me being a retard and not reading it properly, I apologise :)

Anyway you should be good mate, the CPU is working fine so far so it couldn't have done anything to it but in future it would be better to leave it in the socket then you don't have to hold it and clean it at the same time, let the socket hold it :P

No need to feel stupid. It was a good idea to post it here so if there would be a problem, we could attempt to remedy it.
