Ghetto strix cooler thing......

So I took off my cooling shroud on my strix to paint it, but I still wanted to game but there's no fames anymore so I got an idea....

I grabbed my old 92mm fan and some prices of paper and came up with this .......

oh it doesn't but it gets me by, it's just like this until the paint dries on the fan shroud then it will be back to normal. It's mainly due to the fan being connected to the mobo so it spins pretty slow compared to the gpu temps

Naw, that would work well enough to not kill it. What temps is it hitting? If the fan has a high enough CFM it would work anyways. If its a quiet fan, maybe not so much.

nah stock. It hasn't hit 75 degrees yet, and remember this card on less demanding games tge fans don't even come o, I've only been playing black ops 1 so it isn't too bad

in gpu tweak the max temp after a couple rounds of black ops was 71, and it's a shitty coolermaster fan from 2005 and the bearings are gone in it

lower the temp and power limit you numpty. The 750Ti and 960 can get away with being passive but that card will not like it at all, bit of a power jump between the 960 and the 970. Drop the power limit to about 75% and get that ghetto fan running up at 100%

dude its fine, I can play most of my games like payday 2, black ops and other maxed out and not have my fans come on

you still don't get it do you ? There's something called 0db fan mode where the fans don't spin, I'm playing all the games where my fans don't usually spin, you getting this so far ? So your telling me that the thing that asus made for the fan snot to spin when under a certain load will kill my card ? Makes total sense
