Yes you should be able to do all though it would be cutting it very close.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

That's impossible, not cutting close. Get at least a 750W PSU for CF or SLI.

If he's not OCing anything, he should be fine... but I don't know why you'd buy a 970 and not OC it.

How many amps are delivered by the 12V Rail? You need at least 34, if it's multiple rails don't add them up, it should be indicated what the total amps are. That said, 580W is really cutting it close. I would be much more comfortable with at least 750W, and right now there are many option, particularly EVGA GS, G1 and G2 PSUs, i don't think the competition builds same quality PSUs for the same price.

You can get a 750W gold certified fully modular for 100 bucks, the 850W is interesting, it's usually below the price of the 750W equivalent, my guess, 850W is a relatively odd wattage so most people go for 750W, i got the 850W on black friday for 108 bucks for that reason.

580W is cutting it too close IMO. 750W is safe for SLI 970s/980s so try to find something of about that much wattage in your price range. I have a whitelist in my sig of good PSUs. Look there to see if any of them are available in your country for a reasonable price.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

So i did a rough recreation of the power consuming parts in your build at PCPP and before anyone says the wattage calculators are not accurate, i know, but PCPP happens to be very conservative, so i would see their aproximation as an absolute minimum of power usage with OC not considered, so add 50W for the OC (Yes, i totally pulled that number out my ass) and your PSU would be basically working near 100% all the time and it wouldn't allow you to OC the cards, which would be just so sad....

What 580W specifically? If it's a good quality one then yes.

That's impossible, not cutting close. Get at least a 750W PSU for CF or SLI.

His PC will shut down if he starts a demanding game, and it's written in his signature that he has a 4770K overclocked to 4.1GHz.

Have you tried it yourself to say that? Because I have, and that is false. Two 970s (EVGA SC + Gigabyte G1) and a slightly overclocked Phenom II X6 on a 7-year-old Antec NeoHE 550W. No issues at all. Didn't shut down even under Furmark, which is a highly unrealistic load on both GPUs. If OP's PSU is equal to or greater in quality then mine, it can handle 970 SLI.

I used to have GTX 970 SLI, rest of specs are in sig. Peak power draw under synthetic load was 420W off the wall. With his i7 he should be just fine, given that the multi-rail setup of his bequiet PSU is capable of powering the cards. I think TekSyndicate made a video not too long ago explaining why it shouldn't matter.

who cares...

It's likely more than 420W BTW, just saying I would not personally run any dual GPU setup from 970 or up on 580W. PSUs do degrade over time and I don't want to wake up, turn the PC on and hear some nice sizzling coming from a used to be 970 :)

Like i said. I used to own a 970 SLI. i know what kind of pwoer draw you can expect. He won't draw mroe power unless he decides to get the powerhungry Gigabyte G1 version as his second 970. That PSU quality degradation sounds like a ancient myth from the early days of PC building. I don't think that OP will run into any problems now or in the future. Power supplies are made for delivering their rated wattage.

Well keep in mind I have been through many PSUs and some have degraded to the point where my PC would boot with a laptop HDD and not a desktop one because of the wattage required. I'm not sure how you measured this wattage however my best guess is that you did not overclock. I would not assume that two 970s would get to 580W with overclocking but I would still choose a PSU with more wattage. I do believe in degradation of PSUs. A 580W will work fine for now but I would not personally put it in this system and I would only lightly overclock if I did.

bequiet is pretty good. Their straight power E9 PSUs also have 5 years of warranty.

I measured my pwoer draw with a regular wall plug adapter. I overclocked everything to the max.

The be quiet! is very good, yes. He will not be hitting 580W usage max, I understand. I just wouldn't put a 580 W PSU in a dual GPU system no matter the quality. Want just a bit more headroom myself. That's just how I would spend my own money.

yeah i understand. i switched up from 550 to 850 W myself. But also one of the major reasons was that my old PSu didn't even have enough connectors for my cards (or at elast i thought so at the time). Anyways, i wouldn't have done it myself either but its possible. ;)
