if I buy Aztech HL117EP.

it's a 500mbps speed.

but I hear my friend saying that the speed of the Internet using the him plus is less than a 100mpbs. why? pls help thanks

Because you have a 500mbps router, powerline adapter, whatever, doesn't mean that your ISP will magically give you 500mbps download or upload speeds.

What is your actual Internet Package that you pay the ISP for? This "Homeplug" is just a Powerline Ethernet adapter kit. It cannot make your internet faster than you pay for.

 

Because you have a 500mbps router, powerline adapter, whatever, doesn't mean that your ISP will magically give you 500mbps download or upload speeds.

Powerline, like WiFi, doesn't run at the advertised speed. The number is theoretical and should only be used to "judge" how fast one adapter is compared to another equivalent style of adapter. Based on the numbers smallnetbuilder has got with various devices basically it's something along the lines of this:

 

AV (200) -> 35 - 70Mbps

AV 500 -> 70 - 130Mbps

AV2, AV 600 etc -> 200 - 300Mbps

Im using 2 of Home plug Aztech HL117EP. Both at Cat 6 wires.
