I recently bought some led strips. There is no way of turning them off other then unplugging them. What is the name of the part that can turn them on and off?

Uhm... you mean a switch?  :lol:

There isn't any specific name for a switch that is made specificly for LEDs afaik.

Ebay and some stores like FCPU can seel you a molex with a switch wires in place:
