Hello.

I have recently done a clean install of windows 10,

I have installed MSI Afterburner and I am receiving an error upon Launch stating "the application has failed to launch because its side by side configuration is incorrect" I have whittled this error down to being caused by c++ 2008 not being installed. I am also receiving the same error while trying to launch Alan Wake which also used the c++ 2008 redist.

I have downloaded both c++ 2008 and 2010 redist in both X86 and X64 formats but upon trying to install I receive the below error yet anything  past C++ 2010 works flawlessly.

C++ 2010 Fatal error during installation .

C++ 2008 Error 997. overlapped I/O operation is in progress

Any ideas on how I can fix this would be appreciated as I  have very close to reverting back to windows 8.1

So far I have tried installing in safe mode which brings along an error relating to MSInstaller not working in

safe mode. And even a second clean install.

Probably the proper drivers arent out yet. I would revert back to windows 8.1 and wait a few months till they have fixed everything!

Afterburner's working fine for me in Windows 10...

Try installing the C++ 2008 redist x86 and the service pack for it.

These are all the ones installed on my Windows 10 build, most of which were installed by other applications.

Could you take a screenshot of your installed updates? Just type in Cortana "installed updates" and it'll be the first option.

Did you ever use a registry cleaner at any point in time on your previous Windows, before you upgraded?

Did you ever had a malware or virus before on the previous install which your removed?

To me, it looks like something corrupted, and a clean install might be easier to do.
