So I recently got the Deathadder black edition and I absolutely hated it. I had it for a good 30 mins and decided to RMA it.

The mouse feels really slippery and it just feels like its going to slide out of my hands at any moment. I bought it so I could get a comfortable palm grip mouse and man, was I disappointed.

Now, after watching linus' review on the 2013 edition, I noticed that there were rubber pads on the sides, so I was wondering if those would be better since I have smooth dry hands) or should I choose another.

I have been looking at the G500s and the reviews seem very favourable so i was planning on getting that.

If anyone else thinks that there are any other good palm grip mice out there, please feel free to leave a recommendation ^^

Any thoughts?

try the mamba 2012, I have one i love it to death, but I have really big hands so maybe thats why I like it so much lol

It has rubber pads where your fingers sit to hold the mouse, and it's longer and "lower" than the adder, if you have big hands you may like it

@poliswag the mamba is a bit too expensive for me :S

and dang, a lot of people chose the deathadder 2013. Is there anything significantly different about it from the black edition?

You probably need to change your settings around. The new one only has the new buttons and different rest position.  But you should find a vendor online that will let you return the product, get both of them and try them both out and return one you like the least.

Razer Deathadder. Best mouse I ever bought (july 2008) and still using it!

if you are talking about the black edition, I fully said that it was the worst mouse I had ever used in my life in the first post ._.

G500s feels wonderful in my hand and the textured sides are great. Are you able to go to a store near you and check some out?

Deathadder just never felt right in my hand when gaming.

my biggest complaints with the deathadder are
1. too small for my hand (I'm 5' 10" but I do have larger hands for my height)
2. The feature set isn't enough for the price, G500 has much more features and still has very good accuracy, although I have never tested a deathadder in-game so I wouldn't know from that standpoint

if you want a death-adder like mouse, get the Zowie EC2 evo

They changed the texture on the mouse that would probably make the most difference the side grips do halp when lifting the mouse but in never had issues with that even with mice like the G600 and Naga. The thing you should ask is if you liked the shape or if that was the problem. As for comfortable palm mouse besides the deathadder 2013 I would look at the Naga 2014, G400s, G700s, G600, and Naos 8200. Ive see the Func MS-3 recommended but I havnt used it so I cant recommend it personalty.

The Logitech G400 is a better option than the G500 if you don't need above 3600 DPI. The G400 doesn't have the acceleration issues of the ADNS 9500 laser sensor. The Deathadder 2013 has some form of smoothing on the sensor from what I've heard, which you probably don't want.

I'm not a pro gamer, but the DA 2013 fixed all my complaints about the 3.5G (non-black), the slick sides would get disgusting after a day. The mouse didn't remember its previous DPI so until synapse "cloud syncs", it would zoom at 3500DPI, which the mouse now actually will retain its settings from prior setup even without Synapse installed.

As shady as "cloud" syncing sounds, I think Synapse is better than Logitech gaming software, LGS just seems to have bugs all the time.

I'm not very concerned with the software of the mouse because I already own a blackwidow 2013 and I haven't had any problems with razer synapse as of yet.

What I'm really concerned is with the feel of the mouse.

But I have to ask. What material is the top of the mouse made of? and are the rubberized sides really as great as linus says they are?

Hey, I was wondering if you could tell me how long your hand is (tip of middle finger to bottom of palm)

I agree the G400s is better than the G500s if you dont need/want the extra buttons or the higher dpi. Also all the new Logitech mice have the 9800 laser not which has many less issues and the ones it does have are diminished.

I have never heard of a single issues with the deathadder 2013 please provide a link if you could im quite interested.

just by looking and comparing the G400s and the G500s, I'm thinking that the G500s will feel better in my hand. Also, one problem with the deathadder black edition that I had was the Hypersensitivity of the mouse buttons (left and right click)

they just click so easily and it was quite annoying.

20cm

is it safe to assume that you palm grip your mouse?

If your looking at the G500s look at the G700s I <3 its shape probably one of the best shaped mice ever.
